Understanding Voice Lift: Best Practices For More Effective Large Meeting Spaces
The implementation of voice lift in an AV conference system or meeting room environment can be complex. Special considerations range from separate signal paths for capturing audio and voice lift sound reinforcement, to configuring virtual references for the acoustic echo cancellers.

This session highlights some considerations for voice lift systems as well as the voice lift application for conference rooms in a broad sense. We discuss techniques that help the system designer and the installer properly design, install, and configure the system for maximum gain-before-feedback and effective performance.

Learning Outcomes #1 * • Determining the ideal polar pattern and EQ settings
• Automatic Mixing – what works and what doesn’t for voice lift applications

Learning Outcomes #2 * • Implementing a zoned loudspeaker system
• Mix-Minus techniques and how to best implement

Learning Outcomes #3 * • Understanding PAG/NAG (Potential Acoustic Gain / Needed Acoustic Gain)
• Room Size and Acoustics – Not all rooms require voice lift
